State Required Courses for Security Professionals in Pinecrest

The state of Florida mandates certain training requirements, regardless of if your interest is in unarmed or armed security services. Unarmed Class D license holders will take a four day, 40-hour training course to give them insight and preparation for every aspect of the security industry, from residential and access control, all the way through armed prison transport. Students aspiring to armed service will need to take the three days, 28-hour firearms training course with our licensed firearms instructors before they pass the proficiency exam on a live range fire. Students will then certify their Class G armed security license and be equipped with the skills needed to succeed in an armed capacity.

Equipment Needed

Items required for all classes are as follows:

  • Bring a notepad, pen & highlighter for course notes
  • No Ammunition allowed in the Classroom, RANGE ONLY!
  • No open shoes. Sneakers or boots only
  • Long pants with strong belt – (i.e., jeans, duty or tactical pants) – *NO SHORTS OR SWEAT PANTS ALLOWED*
  • Crew neck t-shirt, dress or polo shirt – *NO TANK TOPS OR LOW CUT SHIRTS ALLOWED*
  • If you wear glasses, please bring them to class
  • Firearm (Available for rent $10)
  • 150 Rounds of Ammunition (RANGE DAY ONLY)
  • If you bring your firearm, you MUST have a min. of 3x Magazines (Semi-Auto) or 3x 6 Round Speedloaders (Revolver)
