Security D License Course
Invictus Security provides the Security D License Course at our different locations throughout the State. To attend our training courses, please visit our schedule for class dates. Students desiring to attend our Security School must register for the courses as well as dates they desire to attend.
The Security class d license class is the required class to get your Florida unarmed security license. The Security class is a 40-hour program we provide in a 4-day duration, and the lessons are 10- hour days. Our instructors will cover the Florida Laws, Observation Skills, Patrolling, Report Writing, Terrorism Awareness, Customer Service, Radio Communications, Investigations, First Aid, and other classes that will prep students for the private security sector.
Optional Security Classes
Invictus additionally provides optional with the security class; the American Heartsaver CPR & AED certification. We provide the CPR Course the next day after the Security class d license training. We highly advise you acquire your accreditation prior to your job search; security firms are more likely to employ a security officer that already has this certification.
Students that finish the Security class d license can then attend the armed security class. The armed security license is also called the Firearms Class G license. The Firearms Class G Program is a 3-day course that will qualify you to work armed security.

Is Security Guard Training all the same throughout the State of Florida?
No. Not all security schools provide the same level of training. The state requires all security schools to cover a 40-hour security training outline, but each school is responsible for delivering their curriculum of training. So the security guard training is not standardized and different at every security school. Many security training schools throughout the state offer this training through 40 hours of boring old videos and barley cover the minimum standards. We have set the standards and have the best reputation for security guard training in the state! Our founder was appointed by the state for a 4-year term to represent security training and to help raise the standards for security guards. Requirements
Above 18 years of age
no criminal charges within the past three (3) years
of good moral character
U.S. Citizen or a Legal Resident
You may be eligible for the security guard license if you are or were a Florida Certified law enforcement officer and or completed the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for certification as a police officer or a corrections officer. Military veterans who were Military Police may also be eligible for the security guard license. Out of state law enforcement may be required to attend the 40 hours of security training. It is highly recommended that all those seeking to get into private security attend the 40 hours of training to understand the state laws and how the industry varies from law enforcement and the military.
