Class D Security License Training?
The security class D license in Florida is the required license to work as a security officer. An unarmed security guard’s primary duty is the prevention and deterrence of crime. Security officers enforce company rules and can act to protect lives and property. In addition to basic deterrence, our security academy teaches our students the fundamentals of security. Security guards that complete our security training are trained with the following skills: observation, patrolling, emergency procedures, terrorism awareness, first Aid, writing detailed reports, interviewing techniques, Law Enforcement liaison, fire detection, 2-way radio procedures.
Security class D license requires 40 hours of classroom and instruction at a security school regulated by the Division of Licensing. The security class D license is valid for two(2) years and must be renewed three(3) months before the expiration date.

The number of jobs security is expected to grow in the U.S., with 175,000 new security jobs expected before 2016. In recent years, due to elevated threats of terrorism, security officers are required by the State of Florida to have bomb-threat training and or emergency crisis training, especially those located in soft target areas such as shopping malls, schools, and any other area where the general public congregate.
Security personnel performs access control at building entrances and vehicle gates, ensuring employees and visitors display proper identification before entering the facility. Security officers are often called upon to respond to minor emergencies and to assist in serious emergencies by guiding emergency responders to the scene of the incident and by documenting what happened on an incident report.
Security D License Training
The State of Florida requires 40-hours of classroom instruction for the security class D license. The Division of Licensing regulates the Security industry in the State of Florida for licensure. Students that complete the required security certification and written test will receive a certificate of training from our school. The Security Class D license training must be instructed at a licensed security school.

Is Security Guard Training all the same throughout the State of Florida?
No. Not all security schools provide the same level of training. The state requires all security schools to cover a 40-hour security training outline, but each school is responsible for delivering their curriculum of training. So the security guard training is not standardized and different at every security school. Many security training schools throughout the state offer this training through 40 hours of boring old videos and barley cover the minimum standards. We have set the standards and have the best reputation for security guard training in the state! Our founder was appointed by the state for a 4-year term to represent security training and to help raise the standards for security guards. The security D license is required to work private security services in the State of Florida. Florida requires any security officer working private security under a licensed security agency must have a class d security license, and armed security services must have a D and G license. no criminal charges within the past three (3) years
of good moral character
U.S. Citizen or a Legal Resident
You may be eligible for the security guard license if you are or were a Florida Certified law enforcement officer and or completed the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for certification as a police officer or a corrections officer. Military veterans who were Military Police may also be eligible for the security guard license. Out of state law enforcement may be required to attend the 40 hours of security training. It is highly recommended that all those seeking to get into private security attend the 40 hours of training to understand the state laws and how the industry varies from law enforcement and the military. Florida Laws, Legal Issues and Liability, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Public Relations, Crime & Accident Prevention Techniques, Observation Techniques and Report Writing, Interviewing, Patrol, Access Control, Crime and Accident Scene Protection, Terrorism Awareness, Special Problems for Security, Fundamentals of Personal Security, Emergency Procedures, Crowd Control Courtroom Procedures Traffic Direction, Radio Communications, Fire Detection, Suppression and Life Safety, First Aid, CPR & AED, Interpersonal Communications. The Florida law does not allow the classes for the security license Florida online.
