The Armed Security Guard Classes covers the general safety rules to be used by licensees in the handling, storing, and wearing of the service handgun for the Class G Security License.

28 Hour G Course

The State of Florida requires all armed security officers to complete 4 Hours of firearms Training. The Class G Statewide Firearms recertification is conducted every Sunday at 7:45 am (Except Holidays). This course will re-qualify G licensees for the Florida annual requirements under chapter F.S. 493.

4 Hour G Recertification

The Statewide Firearms G recertification is a 4 Hour Training Course conducted at The Security Training Group Facility in Pembroke Pines, Florida. This course will re-qualify you for the annual requirement in the State of Florida. 

Equipment Needed

Items required for all classes are as follows:

  • Bring a notepad, pen & highlighter for course notes
  • No Ammunition allowed in the Classroom, RANGE ONLY!
  • No open shoes. Sneakers or boots only
  • Long pants with strong belt – (i.e., jeans, duty or tactical pants) – *NO SHORTS OR SWEAT PANTS ALLOWED*
  • Crew neck t-shirt, dress or polo shirt – *NO TANK TOPS OR LOW CUT SHIRTS ALLOWED*
  • If you wear glasses, please bring them to class
  • Firearm (Available for rent $10)
  • 150 Rounds of Ammunition (RANGE DAY ONLY)
  • If you bring your firearm, you MUST have a min. of 3x Magazines (Semi-Auto) or 3x 6 Round Speedloaders (Revolver)

The Statewide Firearms Class G Course is 28 hours of firearms training conducted at our training facilities throughout Florida in the following cities: West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Melbourne, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville
