Trump Plaza Security Officer Job Description:
Responsibilities: The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and protection of all residents, guests and employees of residents, and to enforce Access Control Procedures. Officers are to greet residents and all visitors to Trump Plaza with a friendly and sincere welcome. Essential duties and responsibilities are as follows (other duties may be assigned):
Security Officer Duties Include:
- Arrive early to receive briefing from outgoing shift. Brief incoming shift as required at the end of shift
- Patrol all areas of the property, including lobbies, corridors, pool deck, parking garages, stairwells, etc.
- Patrol areas to detect/report and/or control fires, unsafe conditions and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
- Investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, accidents, illness, violations of policies, and any other loss related event.
- Control all situations in a calm, professional, and hospitable manner.
- Ability to effectively deal with residents and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, to collect accurate information and to resolve conflicts.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Monitor and control Trump Plaza’s computerized Security Access system and Building Link system. Notify appropriate residents as needed.
- Responsible for logging in all visitors & employees of residents, and issue valet tickets or a parking pass.
- Responsible for signing in and out all keys and provide lock out service to residents or their guest, contractor, housekeeper etc… when needed.
- Understand all Trump policies and assist residents/ staff whenever possible.
- Maintain daily shift reports such as – logbook, sign-in system, and Valet ticket logbook.
- When needed, maintain cleanliness of Trump Plaza grounds areas at all time. Rearrange chairs around pool and lounge. Pick up falling palm branches, debris from driveway etc…
- Officer must be able to follow directions and react quickly during emergency situations. When required, communicate to 911 operators in a professional manner.
- Assist management and law enforcement officers in emergency situations.
- Provide timely and accurate information to Security Supervisors on unusual conditions or situations.
- Promptly answer telephone calls using positive and clear communication.
- Ability to remember the names and apt. number of residents in the buildings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Security Supervisor or Director of Safety and Security.
- When needed, early morning or late night Valet parking services. Park and retrieve cars for residents. Assist resident or guests with their luggage. Provide exceptional Customer Service.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- State of Florida Security D License.
- CPR & AED Certified
- Require good driving record/history and a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio console and monitor intrusion/ fire alarm systems.
- Ability to think clearly and act quickly in emergency/life threatening situations. Require observation skills to quickly recognized intruders and be aware of illegal activity. In addition, you must be patient and have strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Computer literate to include Microsoft office and outlook, with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to act courteous and professional with resident/guest and staff.
- Must be available for shift work including weekend & holidays 24/7/365.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
- In addition to performance of your Security functions, this position may require you to perform a combination of the following supportive functions: Concierge and Valet when needed.
- Trump Plaza functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands.
