The Alternative & Non-Lethal Control Methods training is a comprehensive program that presents security officers with the tactics, techniques, and procedures necessary to recognize, reduce and manage violent and aggressive behavior through alternative and non-lethal control methods.

Objectives

The Non-Lethal Self Defense Control Methods training program includes the Management of Aggressive Behavior-for public safety officers, Oleoresin Capsicum Spray- OC (Pepper Spray), Collapsible Baton and Handcuffing Techniques.

Program Objective

The objective of the Alternative Self Defense & Non-Lethal Control Methods course is to train security officers with the tactics, techniques and procedures necessary to recognize, reduce and manage violent and aggressive behavior through alternative and non-lethal control methods. Completion of this course will regulate and certify students entering the Security Industry in Non-Lethal Control Methods.

Additionally, the completion of this course will prepare students entering the Security and Private Investigative industry ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes 493 and 776.

Management of Aggressive Behavior (M.O.A.B)

M.O.A.B course teaches the principles, techniques, and skills for recognizing, reducing violent and aggressive behavior. The course provides methods of dealing with aggressive people while working as a security professional.

ASP Collapsible Baton

The ASP Baton Course is a hands-on training that trains participants in the use of the ASP Collapsible Baton. The course provides training for carrying and drawing procedures as well as striking techniques.

The impact weapon techniques in all ASP Tactical Baton programs are designed to meet three standards of training. The techniques are court defensible and are backed by the nation’s most experienced use-of-force consultants.

ASP Handcuff Certification

The ASP Handcuff Certification is a hands-on course that trains participants in the operational use of the hinged and chain handcuffs, as well as the proprietary ASP flex-cuffs. The course provides effective mechanical restraint tactics for private security personnel. The course provides carrying and drawing procedures as well as application techniques.

OC Spray

The OC Spray certification course will train and certify private security officers in the use of aerosols tactics and will help protect the officer from costly litigation issues that could arise from the use of OC aerosol projectors. This course teaches proper deployment techniques, situational drills, defensive and retention contamination drills, decontamination, and operational guidelines.
